Three health and fitness blogs you should read over a cuppa

Changing my lifestyle to become a healthier version of myself is something I have been trying to do for a long time. At the end of 2015 I decided to fully commit and create a blog documenting my fitness journey. My first post for every_third_day was in December and as time has gone on blogging has become a pleasurable escape from the pressures of my every day life. I’m not sure why I find it so therapeutic, especially as I hated writing at school, but I really enjoy adding new content to my blog every few days.

With this in mind I thought it would be good to share three blogs that have inspired and shaped both my fitness journey and every_third_day.

Imperfect Matter – Cat MeffanCbgRwGSWIAIv3yP

Possibly the most flexible person on instagram, Cat Meffan is a yoga teacher who blogs about health, fitness, food and travel. I am currently trying to improve my mobility and discovered Cat through instagram. Although I initially visited Imperfect Matter to get yoga tips I soon discovered there was a lot more I could learn from her. Whether it is a healthy recipe or a post documenting her own fitness journey I always discover something new from reading Cat’s blog. The thing I respect most about her is the honesty of writing. She has overcome real struggles and isn’t afraid to share her story, I find this really inspirational.

Co-founder of #GirlGains, Personal Trainer and health and fitness blogger, Zanna is an inspiration to thousands of people. Her passion for helping people live healthier lives comes across in everything she does and I find that really motivating. Whether it is tasty recipes, training tips or just ideas for being a little healthier Zanna’s blog has it all. Plus she has a great YouTube channel with loads of videos full of ideas and advice. Zanna’s natural approach to vlogging (video blogging) makes the videos fun to watch and you know they are genuine. If you haven’t checked out her blog or youtube channel I urge you to do it right now.

I have been a loyal reader of FitnessonToast (FoT) for well over a year now and it is one of the blogs that inspired me to start my own. I was introduced to FoT by a friend who knew I was trying to lead a healthier life and wanted to help. They sent me a couple of links and after reading them I spent the rest of the afternoon learning as much as I could from Faya (the author). The passion, knowledge and sense of fun that she writes with make reading her content an absolute pleasure. Whether it is training advice, a new recipe or tales from her latest active escape I always look forward to the next post.

  1. Great to hear about your journey to a healthier lifestyle. I’m on that journey too. My dad was diagnosed with Leukemia over a year ago. He is now in remission and at the time I was already starting to get in shape but it was such a shock to me and I learnt so much about the body (I’d forgotten everything from school!) It’s only then I realised how fragile our bodies are and how much care we need to take. So I’ve given up my career in the stressful city to become a personal trainer – liberation! Thanks for sharing the blogs that have inspired you. Yours has inspired me tonight as I feel like I’m the newest blogger on the block! X x

It is great news that your dad is now in remission and that his battle sparked you to change your career. I have just been checking out your blog and it is brilliant! I love the blog on Barry’s bootcamp. I live just outside Birmingham and I wish they would open up here! Next time I am in London with work I am definitely going to book a class there!
