With Mr Joe Wicks now occupying positions number one and two in the Amazon best seller list I thought I would share my five favourite recipes from his first book. My best mate and his wife bought me the book for my birthday and it is one of the best presents I’ve ever received. After trying out a couple of the meals I became a huge advocate and I’ve been raving about it to everyone and anyone who will listen to me. In fact I am pretty sure I directly responsible for at least 10 of the sales in the Birmingham area! Anyway this is about my five favourite meals so in no particular order here they are…
Number one – Bad-Boy Burrito
First up is the delicious burrito recipe that well and truly lives up to its name. Mrs every_third_day and I love Mexican food and the Leanin15 take on a burrito is brilliant. As the books says it is a great treat post workout and so easy to cook. Plus with it being a burrito you can mix up the meat element to suit you fancy.
Number two – Eggs baked in avocado
This was the first meal I made from the book and I have cooked it countless times since. It is so simple and makes such an easy lunch. The first time I cooked at the office I had four people come and see what I had made and ask if they could try some. Packed full of good stuff, this recipe is as healthy as it is delicious.
Number three – Gnocchi with sausage ragu
The third meal to make my top five is this delicious Italian dish. I am a huge fan of Mediterranean food and so being able to cook something so authentic so quickly is great. I make this recipe with venison sausages as I find their flavour really adds something to the dish. Also Venison is really lean meat that’s high in protein.
Number four – Tomatoes, eggs and chorizo
What is there not to love about this recipe? It’s healthy, it’s full of delicious ingredients and you can eat it straight from the frying pan you cook it in. When you start cooking this it fills the kitchen with amazing smells that get your taste buds going and you are not disappointed when you get to sit down to eat it.
Number five – My big juicy meatballs and pasta
As mentioned earlier I love Mediterranean food and this is another great meal for any pasta lover. After a big cardio session this meal is the perfect reward for all the effort you have put in. Like all of Joe’s recipes it is dead simple and very quick to make. The hard part is taking your time to enjoy it and not wolfing it down.
So there you have it, my five favourite Leanin15 meals from book one. I can’t wait for the second book to be launched as I am sure it will be jam packed full of more great recipes. The only thing left to say it thank you Joe Wicks, you are making the country healthier and for that I salute you!
