Last year I wrote a blog about my five favourite #Leanin15 recipes and it has been one of my most read posts. I was bought #Leanin15 book 3 ‘The Sustain Plan’ for Christmas and I’ve already tried loads of recipes. There are some amazing dishes in the book so I thought I would share my top five so far…
Banana and Chocolate Overnight Oats.
I had never tried overnight oats before, I prefer my porridge oats to be hot in the morning. However the photo in the book made the overnight oats look amazing and so I gave it a try. Unsurprisingly the blend of banana, chocolate and oats tasted as good as it looked in the photo. I really enjoyed trying a new twist on my breakfast staple and will be trying other overnight oats recipes.
Chicken Tikka Masala
I love a good curry but takeaways can be really unhealthy. I’ve tried cooking curry’s at home but to be honest that usually means cooking some chicken and pouring in a jar of Sharwoods sauce. Mr Wicks has changed the game with his take on Chicken Tikka Masala. This #Leanin15 recipe is INCREDIBLE! Despite the long list of ingredients it is really easy to make and the taste is unbelievable. I will never buy jars of curry sauce again!
Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice
Anyone who likes sweet and sour chicken will love this dish. I cooked it for my wife and she was amazed by how good it tasted. Just like the Chicken Tikka Masala recipe there is a long list of ingredients but it is still really quick to make. This will be a regular post run meal for me over the next few months. It is the perfect combination of tasty and full of good stuff!
Turkey, Leek and Tarragon Gnocchi
This is a delicious post workout dinner, which has everything you need to fuel your recovery. I am a huge fan of the #Leanin15 Sausage Ragu and Gnocchi recipe from book one and this is just as good. Buying good quality Gnocchi is essential as the flavours in the rest of the meal are so good you won’t want them let down by rubbish Gnocchi.
Rice and Chicken stuffed Peppers
The final recipe recommendation has to come with a warning, make sure you are really hungry when you make it. I followed the recipe exactly and it made so much stuffing, you can see in the photo how much didn’t fit in the peppers! I am not going to lie though, my wife and I ate all of it because it tasted soooo good! If you like Mexican food you will love this recipe.
So those are my five favourite recipes from #Leanin15 book 3. These are just a small selection of the recipes in the book and having tried others I can confidently say that Joe Wicks has delivered another great healthy cookbook! If you haven’t bought one of his books yet then you are missing out. They are packed full of genuinely great recipes that also happen to be really healthy.
